Residential – Direct Support Professional 

Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in various aspects of daily living in their homes and in the community. 

Shifts vary however primary block scheduling includes, 8am-3pm, 3pm-10pm, 10pm-8am. Additionally, NCS has 1:1 standard scheduling with flexible hours to meet the needs of the individual and the employee. 

Sleep Overnight shifts are 10pm-8am. Staff is mostly able to sleep during these shifts with minimal duties and awake to help individuals with needs they may have. These shifts are per diem salary at $120 per night. 

Salary varies dependent on the needs to the individuals but range between $18.00 – $22.00 per hour. 

Locations Include: Duluth, Hermantown, Cloquet, Esko, Moose Lake, Willow River, Sandstone, Hinckley, and Pine City.

Shift mixture; works every other weekend

Duties Include:

  • Ensuring the daily operations of the home are completed.
  • Implementing and documenting daily duties.
  • Completing formal training.
  • Assist individuals on daily living skills, household tasks, personal hygiene, budgeting, and medication administration. 
  • Transport and accompany individuals in community activities, recreation and leisure activities. 
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment while implementing behavior management skills. 
  • Complete Appropriate documentation, team communication, and follow licensing standard.

Employment Specialist

Are you looking for a job that is fun and rewarding along being out in the community enjoying many different activities?

Employment Specialists support adults in the community with disabilities. This includes supporting current employment or seeking employment. All aspects that go into employment/job seeking are evaluated to find a job that fits well for each individual.

Must have a valid driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle with insurance. Personal vehicle is used to transport individual to and from work. Mileage reimbursement is provided at .64 cents per mile.  

Monday – Friday/ No Weekends

Duties Include:

  • Daily implementation of support plans to help individuals achieve their fullest potential.

Monday-Friday scheduling/No Holidays

ARMHS practitioners provide in-hoe and community-based mental health rehabilitative services to people in the form of instruction, support, and coaching for the purpose of promoting psychiatric stability, increased social functioning and competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living skills. 

Mental Health Practitioners are also excellent opportunities for paid internship placements for individuals interested in the mental health field.

Primary Functions and Duties: 

  • Provide mental health rehabilitative services to individuals
  • Be able to manage your own caseload
  • Engage people from strength-based perspective
  • Understand and implement person-centered practices
  • Develop trusting and therapeutic relationships
  • Complete Functional Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, progress notes, and other required documentation (training provided)
  • Participate in group clinical supervision and other meetings as required 
  • Learn and utilize skills through evidence-based practices
 
Applicants must also meet on of the following criteria.
  •  Has completed at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and has completed 2000 hours (about 1 year) of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with a mental illness; a substance use disorder; a traumatic brain injury; or a developmental disability OR. 
  • Has completed 4000 hours (about 2 years) of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with a mental illness; a substance use disorder; a traumatic brain injury; or a developmental disability.
  • Must meet DHS qualifications for Mental Health Practitioner.

Mental Health Practitioner – CTSS

$50,000-$55,000 per year

Monday-Friday scheduling/No Holidays

This position provides community based rehabilitative services to children and adolescence with mental illness and their families. Qualified candidates will provide individual, family and/or group skills training in the client’s home, community or agency setting. The purpose of CTSS skills is to restore the social and emotional functioning of the child/adolescent that has been delayed or impaired over the course of a psychiatric illness. Staff must agree to work nontraditional work hours of late afternoon or early evenings.

Mental Health Practitioners are also excellent opportunities for paid internship placements for individuals interested in the mental health field. 

Primary Functions and Duties:

  • Provide mental health rehabilitative services to children and adolescents.
  • Desire to work with children and families in their homes; this includes walking, stairs, and the ability to crouch, stoop, sit on floors, and stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to work independently; Valid driver’s license/auto insurance/reliable vehicle; ability to drive a minimum of a 30-mile radius around primary clinic location.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) 
  • If interested in working with children/adolescents and families must be able to commit to late afternoon/early evening schedule
  • Be able to manage your own caseload.

Psychotherapist 

$70,000-$80,000 per year
