What is EIDBI?

EIDBI is Intensive Interventions with children and young adults who have autism and related conditions, as well as counseling and training for their parents and caregivers. EIDBI is a set of targeted and formal interventions intended to improve Behavioral challenges and self-regulations, cognition, functional communication, learning and play, safety, self-care, social or interpersonal interaction.

Center-Based Services

NorthStar provides center based services at the Graceful Strides Farm located in Barnum. At this location children are offered a therapeutic service though animal and nature-based interventions. The farm includes Horses, sheep, goats, cats, cows, bunnies, vegetable gardens, greenhouses, nature trails, and other nature based activities.

  • Care Coordination
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy 
  • Medication Management 
  • Psychotherapy
  • Transportation 
  • Parent Support Groups


  1. Diagnosis: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or reltaed condition 
  2. Comprehensive Evaluation: They will have a comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation (CMDE) that determines if they meet the medical necessity for EIDBI Services. One may be completed at NorthStar if CMDE has not been completed in the last 3 years. 
  3. Enrollment: The individual must be enrolled in Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare, Minnesota Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA), or other qualifying healthcare programs.
